Alex of Spicers Hollow Native Bees dropped in some Accoya offcuts. I plan to make a box with it and do some of the usual basic tests over time. The box might kick around the shed for quite a few years by the sound of it.
Accoya is a “modified wood” that has a 50 year warranty! Unfortunately is very expensive so that will play a factor with native bee boxes, but could it last twice as long as a standard pine box?

Quote from website “Acetylated wood is non-toxic, fully recyclable, and contains only naturally occurring wood compounds.”
Below: I clean the wood up on the sander and put together a box. I didn’t have enough so I just threw a hoop pine lid on top.
