Doug Irvine and Peter Stone dropped in to check up on the progress of the new finger joint boxes I’ve been working on. Doug has been making finger joint native bee boxes for many years and is very well known for it but has recently retired.
It’s taken some time and tweaking but the joints are looking pretty good. Doug was happy with the progress and was excited to see someone take on the challenge of making finger joint boxes. As he’s retired and not making boxes anymore I think he was happy to get back in to a shed and talk woodwork.
I have spent some time with Doug over the last few years as seen in the linked articles below.
A few boxes are now completed and will be available on the hivecraft.com.au website.
