Witch House Hive

Inspired by the photo below, this is built to house stingless bees, with a volume of 7 litres.

242 roof shingles, making a total of around 400 pieces of wood, and a few days work…

A lot of work went in to making it look rough while still being functional. Made with Cypress which looks great but is still pretty light coloured, I was going for the dark look so I used a red stain on the roof and brown on the walls. I’m tempted to add more detail with a chimney and animal skulls like the example photo but over time these might break so it’s best to keep it simple and plain, and where do you stop?

So I made a cow skull just for a look-see, it’s removable. I might have to make a lantern, and maybe a broomstick?
